Kilometres to miles at a glance
Multiply kilometres by roughly six-tenths to get miles: 50 km is about 31 miles, 100 km about 62 miles, 300 km about 186 miles. Our individual route pages show both units so you do not have to do the sums.
Why the clock beats the distance
Terrain, single-lane bridges, small-town speed zones, road works and holiday traffic all stretch travel time. Two routes with the same distance can differ by an hour. Where we quote a drive time, it comes from verified road data for that exact pair of places, not a straight-line estimate.
Building a sensible travel day
Visitors often try to fit three regions into one day. A more relaxed pattern is one long transfer or two shorter ones per day, with stops. If a long day is unavoidable, a private driver means the whole group arrives rested.
