Why a private driver for the day
Auckland is the best-placed city in New Zealand for day trips. Within a few hours' drive you have the Hobbiton Movie Set, the Waitomo glowworm caves, the geothermal parks of Rotorua, the Coromandel beaches, Northland's Bay of Islands and three separate wine regions.
What the classic self-drive day trips from Auckland do not tell you is how much of the day disappears into driving, parking and getting back before dark. A private driver removes all of that: you leave when it suits, stop where you like, and nobody in the group has to concentrate on the road.
We are a private transfer company rather than a group tour operator, so there are no shared seats, no departure lists and no fixed return times. If you would rather finish the day in Rotorua or at the airport instead of back at your hotel, that is just a different drop-off.
Return day or one-way? Both work — decide before you book
A private day tour does not have to finish where it started. You can do a return day, back in Auckland that evening with the same accommodation waiting for you — or a one-way day, where we collect you and your luggage in Auckland, sightsee along the way and drop you at your accommodation in the next town. Auckland out to Rotorua, or Christchurch through to Queenstown, are two of the most popular one-way days we drive.
Either way it is one private vehicle, one driver and one fixed price agreed before you travel. Just tell us on the booking form where you want the day to start and where you want it to finish, and whether your bags are coming with you.
